Sennova has
been the most revolutionary breakthrough in CTC manufacture
since Sir William Mckercher invented the Process. The Sennova
is a state of-the-art CTC processing
machine that optimises on performance.
With 330 mm drums 9 against the conventional 210mm and tooth
profile specifications and speed
ratios synchronised to its diameter, the machine is
designed to maximise quality, output and power utilisation. |

Auto
dejamming - Introduced into the world of
CTC by T&I, the unique auto -dejamming feature
causes the slow speed roller to slide
back in the event of any foreign metal entering the rollers or in
cases of shock loads. The rollers can be immediately
re-engaged, and the machine started without any loss of time.
Single-knob fine-cut - On Sennova, the rollers can be
meshed very closely by simply turning a lever and this can
be done without stopping the machine. This enables very accurate adjustments
to the type
of cut desired. Synchronising such adjustments with the ammeter reading
ensures optimum motor power. Ammeters are provided with every cutting
unit.
Auto tripping - The Sennova automatically trips
in case the Auto-dejamming mechanism is triggered. This brings the
complete machine to a stop-automatically.
Bolt-free
housing - A self-gripping housing eliminates bolts for fastening
to the side-plates, facilitating quick changing of rollers without hammering.
Bearings remain safe within the housings.
Air cooled rollers - Cold air introduced from behind
the rollers prevents leaf temperature from rising, thereby
improving the quality of liquor.
Conveyor belts - Conveyors are fitted with long lasting flange
bearing units. Every conveyor roller is crowned to prevent belt run off.
Increased number of idler rollers and full
length skid plates ensure absolutely straight running of conveyors.
Belts are wider than the CTC rollers.
Independent direct drive - The drive system of the
Sennova is one of its major features. The gear boxes are directly
coupled to be high speed and slow speed rollers with heavy
duty, easily detachable propeller shafts. The gear-box is tailor-made
using high- precision gears and shafts made from
special high tensile steel. Heavy duty bearings, matched V-belts,
and easy tensioning arrangement assure long and trouble free service from
the Sennova drives.
By-bass arrangement - Any cutting unit can be
by-passed in a process, while all conveyors can
continue to run. This feature adds to the operational flexibility of the
Sennova.
Magnet - The Sennova is fitted with a wide, heavy
and sealed ceramic magnet. It is housed in a cast aluminium casing with
stainless steel contact surfaces. The magnet height
is adjustable and facilitates easy lifting and cleaning.
Adjustable drop point - The adjustable drop point feature allows
the tea to drop onto the Slow Speed roller at a desired point.
Axial pitch adjustment - A special device for axial
pitch adjustment of CTC rollers helps to eliminate studs, nuts and
wear and tear-an essential feature often ignored

Zero
spillage - Proper spillage guards prevent leaf
from sticking on to conveyor rollers, preventing
damage to belts. The Sennova has additional through
spillage guards and full length skid plates, which ensure spill proof
running of conveyors and prevent damage to belts.
Interchangeable rollers - Slow speed and high-speed rollers
can be interchanged easily for maximising roller life.
Optional drive - As an optional feature, hardened
and ground bearing sleeves are provided on the
mandrel bearing journal which ensure minimum damage
to bearings. The sleeves can be easily replaced while the bearings remain
intact.
Operational convenience - Controls such as the spreader adjustment
wheel, the anti-jam device, fine cut adjustment, clutch, axial adjustment
and magnet are placed in one convenient line on the same side
of the machine.
Automation - Matching capacity fermenting machines and dryers enables
the Sennova to be an integral part of a fully on-line automated system.
Maintenance - Overall maintenance costs are reduced
due to the reduction in the number of CTC machines.
Lower roller speed also ensures less
wear and tear and so less down time as compared to conventional CTC machine.
Space - Ensures a sizable reduction in space requirements - saving
work areas and costs.
